with the 2013 Meritus Inspiration Award at "Making College Count" -
February 6, 2013
We are planning a very special evening, featuring gourmet food and tastings from exceptional local vintners. This lively celebration will be held in the historic, beautifully renovated former Baker & Hamilton Hardware Company building, now the San Francisco headquarters for Adobe Systems Incorporated at 601 Townsend Street.
This year we are thrilled to honor Jim Swartz with the 2013 Meritus Inspiration Award. Jim is the co-founder of Accel Partners, one of Silicon Valley’s leading venture capital firms. With the aid of scholarships, Jim earned an undergraduate degree from Harvard College and a Master of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He went on to help launch some of the most innovative technology companies around the globe. With his professional and civic leadership, Jim personifies Meritus’ values: persistence, academic scholarship, achievement and outstanding character.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Meritus Program, helping low-income San Francisco youth with grit and ambition complete a college degree and prepare for post-college success through a combination of scholarships, coaching, and personal mentorship.
